Special Prayers

Prayer to Jesus Christ Crucified

Christ on Cross

Behold, my beloved and good Jesus, I cast myself upon my knees in Your sight, and with the most fervent desire of my soul I pray and beseech You to impress upon my heart lively sentiments of faith, hope and charity, with true repentance for my sins and a most firm desire of amendment; while with deep affection and grief of soul I consider within myself and mentally contemplate Your five most Precious Wounds, having before my eyes that which David the prophet long ago spoke about You, my Jesus: "They have pierced My Hands and My Feet; I can count all My Bones".

Prayer to St. Joseph

To you, O Blessed Joseph, do we have recourse in our tribulation, and having implored the help of your thrice holy spouse, we confidently invoke your patronage also.  By that charity wherewith you were united to the Immaculate Virgin Mother of God, and by that fatherly affection with which you did embrace the Child Jesus, we beseech you and we humbly pray, that you would look graciously upon the inheritance which Jesus Christ has purchased by His Blood, and assist us in our needs by your power and strength.  Most watchful guardian of the Holy Family protect the chosen people of Jesus Christ; keep far from us most loving father, all blight of error and corruption. Mercifully assist us from Heaven, most mighty defender, in our conflict with the powers of darkness; and even as of old you did rescue the Child Jesus from the supreme peril of His life, so now defend God's Holy Church from the snares of the enemy and from all adversity; keep us one and all under your continual protection, that we may be supported by your example and your assistance, may be enabled to lead a holy life, die a happy death and come at last to the possession of everlasting blessedness in Heaven.  Amen.

O Gentle Father,

Help me to believe in Your Love,

In good times and in bad

That I may love You,

Not for what You can do for me,

But for Yourself alone.

Eucharist

Act of Consecration to Jesus in the Eucharist

Merciful Father, You love us so much that You sent your only Son Jesus,

        so that whoever believes in Him will not perish but have eternal life.

Your love for us, dear Father,

        was shown to us by Jesus

        when He offered Himself as a victim

        on the altar of the Cross for our salvation

        and when He instituted the Sacrament of the Eucharist

        which is the same sacrifice of Calvary.

I believe, Lord Jesus that You are really present and alive in the Eucharist

        and that You are always waiting for me in this Sacrament of love.

I offer myself entirely to You as a response of love to your love.

I believe, Lord Jesus, that by the power of the Holy Spirit

        You inflame my heart with the fire of Your Love.

Draw me to You and transform me into Yourself

        every time I receive You in the Eucharist.

Let me remain with You and worship You in this Sacrament of Love.

Let my love be an act of reparation for the sins of all humanity.

Mary, Mother of Jesus and my mother,

        I ask you to be with me as I live faithfully this offering

        so that I can respond to your Son’s invitation when He told us:

        “remain here, and watch with Me” (Mt 26:38).

Dearest Jesus

Dearest Jesus!  All Thy creatures are more

       worthy of Thy grace,

Than the vile, wretched sinner who now

        kneels before Thy Face;

Yet one claim I have upon Thee, which Thou

        never wilt deny.

In the bounds of creation, no one

        needs Thee more than I.

Other souls have been more faithful and have

       served Thee better are;

Many spotless hearts more fitting for Thy

        gracious presence are;

Many lips devout, a greeting for more

        fervent can supply;

But dear Master well Thou knowest no one

        needs Thee more than I.

Thou didst leave The Father’s bosom to

        reclaim and save the lost,

Thou didst take upon Thee freely our

        redemptions awful cost.

Thou Thyself hast called me to Thee,

        Thou wilt hearken to my cry.

In the bounds of Thy creation no one

        needs Thee more than I.

Prayer for the Conversion of the Whole World.

O Lord, all hearts are in Thy hands.

Thou canst bend as it pleases Thee the most obdurate and soften the most hardened.

Do that honor this day to the Blood, Merits, Wounds, Names and inflamed Hearts of Thy Beloved Son and His Most Holy Mother by granting the conversion of the whole world.

Nothing less, my God, nothing less, because of Mary, their Mother, because of Thy Might and Mercy.  Amen.
